A public consultation survey on the proposal to reduce gluten-free foods on prescription this year and stop prescribing from April 2017, has now closed. The survey results from over 400 respondents will be shared by the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) at a public meeting on Tuesday 22nd November.
Whether you are someone living with coeliac disease, a carer/family member, a clinician involved in the care of people with this condition, or a member of the Isle of Wight public, you are all encouraged to attend. The financial challenges facing the health service are considerable and it is important that we understand all the issues surrounding decisions such as this.
The public meeting will provide an opportunity to review the survey feedback and debate the key topics that need to be taken into account. A decision by the CCG Governing Body on implementation of the proposal is expected towards the end of the year.
The meeting will take place between 18:00-20:30 on Tuesday 22nd November at The Riverside Centre, Newport.
If you plan to attend, send a RSVP here https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/RSVPgluten-free/ or call 822099 extension 3166.
