21-year-old Keifer Troy Brenchley of Pallance Road in Northwood admitted failing to stop after a road accident when he appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this week.
Brenchley was driving a Ford Fiesta on Pallance Road on the evening of 8th December last year when he crashed into a VW Golf estate. He claims it was the result of an animal running out in the road, causing him to swerve.
Although he initially spoke with nearby local residents, Keifer ran away from the scene. He did eventually make himself known to Police.
The 21-year-old received 8 penalty points on his licence – but these won’t be applied until he receives his licence back following a ban for another offence.
Magistrates have ordered Keifer to pay a £120 fine as well as costs of £85 with a surcharge of £30.
