MYSTERY BOAT WASHES ASHORE AT ST HELENS

Investigations are underway to locate the owner of a boat that washed ashore at St Helens this morning (Tuesday).

HM Coastguard were notified about the discovery of ‘The Boy’ at around 08:30, which led to Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team being sent to the scene.

It’s thought the vessel may have drifted across the Solent overnight having come free from a mooring. Although the boat is registered as Paglesham in Essex, it is more likely to have come from Chichester or another port on the South coast.
