A shop in the middle of Ryde High Street, which has sat empty for around 8 years, looks set to be taken over by Mountain Warehouse.
The national outdoor equipment specialist already operates a store in Newport, but the company are soon to open a second Island outlet opposite Costa Coffee in Ryde’s shopping precinct.
Although in a prime location, the shop has remained empty since closing down as a discount store – Beamans and then Quids In. The frontage underwent a refurbishment recently, which appears to have been successful in interesting new business to the town.
It is unknown when Mountain Warehouse will be opening it’s doors in Ryde.
In other news… Ryde’s Elizabeth Pack store will be closing in the next few weeks as the company draws to a natural end. Pack’s has been a part of Cross Street since the late 80s.
