Islanders are being encouraged to get behind the Isle of Wight this weekend by voting for Bembridge and Sandown Bay, which are both shortlisted in the Countryfile Magazine awards.

The online poll closes at midnight on Sunday 17th February and voting is said to be very close – which means that every vote is vital for success.

Sandown Bay is shortlisted for Best British Beach and Bembridge is in the running for Village of the Year.

The 2 Isle of Wight locations are the only places in the south of England, so a win in both categories would be a win for the Island and the south coast.

Will Myles, Managing Director of Visit Isle of Wight said:

“It would be great if everyone could get behind it and bring these awards back to the Island. Bembridge is an amazing location and Sandown Bay, what can I say! Go to the website, vote now so we can bring these amazing awards back to the Island”.

To vote for the Isle of Wight in the awards, go to https://www.countryfile.com/awards/.

The winners will be announced in March.
