Organisers of the hugely popular Jack Up The Summer festival are staging a couple of great feel-good party nights – one for 80’s aficionados and one for lovers of 90’s dance groove, both featuring top name chart acts.

The cheese factor has been ramped up for the 80’s night on Saturday 23rd November as The Fizz – formerly known as Bucks Fizz – take to the stage to perform a fabulous live set crammed full of their greatest hits.

Bucks Fizz became one of the UK’s biggest pop acts after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 with their famous skirt-ripping dance routine. Their song, ‘Making Your Mind Up,’ went to number 1 in 9 countries, and was followed by hit singles including ‘My Camera Never Lies’ and ‘Land of Make Believe.’

More than 30 years on, the original members of Bucks Fizz – Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston, are joined by founding member Mike Nolan and are still ripping skirts off to cheers from thousands of fans old and new.

Kicking the weekend off on the evening of Friday 22nd November, it’s time to turn your boombox up and get on the floor. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of dance songs from the 1990’s the first of the 2 Jack Up Christmas party nights is the one for you.

Described as being one of the world’s finest DJs and performers, Dario G, best known for their 1997 hit ‘Sunchyme’, will be performing live along with British Eurodance band, Urban Cookie Collective remembered for their legendary 1993 hit single ‘The Key, The Secret’.

Both nights will be held at Lower Hyde in Shanklin which boasts a large ballroom with a traditional wooden dance floor and stage with custom retro video disco and effects.
