The very best spots for British caravanning and camping have been celebrated at the AA Caravan and Camping Awards 2018, with Whitefield Forest Touring Park and Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat walking away with coveted awards.
The sparkling ceremony took place at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in Birmingham last night (Tuesday) and saw Whitefield Forest Touring Park in Ryde awarded Regional Campsite of the Year for the South East. Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat in Wootton was named Holiday Centre of the Year 2018.
With Brexit and the fall in the value of the pound helping to contribute to the rise of glamping and luxury options available, camping and caravanning sites remain firm family favourites for holiday destinations. More and more sites now provide the likes of luxury yurts and huts in addition to the more traditional family holiday options.
Pat & Simon Glover, Owners of Whitefield Forest Touring Park, commented:
“We are very happy and pleased to have been awarded the South East Region AA Campsite of the Year 2018 as this is a recognition of our commitment to providing a high quality touring park and service to our customers.”
Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Hotel & Hospitality Services said:
“The winning caravan sites have all stood out for demonstrating an extremely high standard of customer service and experience combined with hard work and dedication, making them worthy winners of the AA’s prestigious Caravan & Camping Awards. Caravanning and camping are key to the British hospitality industry, and it’s important that we continue to support the sites located throughout the UK.”
All winners will feature in the 50th Anniversary Edition of the AA Caravanning and Camping Guide.
