Tesco Ryde on the Isle of Wight is offering the cheapest petrol prices in the country, according to the fuel comparison website PetrolPrices.com.
Last month the cost of filling up your tank rose by around 5p per litre – the second largest monthly rise in almost 2 decades.
But those living on the Island are laughing as it has been revealed by The Mirror that Ryde boasts the cheapest petrol in the country at 118.9p per litre. That said, the price has already risen to 120.9p at the Brading Road garage since the research was carried out.
Not everywhere on the Island is cheap though… in Freshwater an independent garage was yesterday (Sunday) offering petrol at a staggering 141.9p per litre.
The Isle of Wight is closely followed in the comparison tables by Leyland in Lancashire where fuel is being offered at a slightly higher price of 119.7p.
However, the Island doesn’t hit the top of the table for diesel prices. That crown goes to Shildon in Durham with a price of 127.9p.

Well they got that wrong as Morrisons was at 117 and with their offer of 5p off each litre if you spent just £40 in store it came down to 112.
