The Island Savoyards are to bring The Wizard of Oz to the stage of Shanklin Theatre later this week.
The Wizard of Oz is an enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic. Developed from the ever popular MGM screenplay, this new production contains Harold Arlen’s and E.Y. Harburg’s songs from the Oscar-winning movie score, plus all the favourite characters and iconic moments. It features stunning costume designs, a full professional set and is accompanied by the well-known Island Savoyards Orchestra.
Holly Gardiner stars as Dorothy and well known Island theatre stalwart Paul Stevens as the Wizard. Directed by Anthony Wright with Musical Director Andrew Woodford.
This latest show follows The Island Savoyards sell out production of Grease and their fresh new adaptation of the Mikado in what is the group’s 45th year.
The Wizard of Oz is being performed on 1st-3rd December at 19:30 and on 3rd and 4th December at 14:30.
