A car passionately curated by an Isle of Wight businessman has been nominated for the title of Fastcar magazine’s ‘Car of the Year 2018’, sponsored by Adrian Flux insurance.
Rich Fox’s 671bhp green and black Ford Focus RS always turns heads wherever it goes, not only because of its striking road presence but its impressive paintwork and aggressive noises – all of which add to the car’s appropriate nickname of ‘The Monster’.
Fox, 34, who runs The Yarbridge pub near Brading, started the adventurous project back in 2011 when he bought the stock-standard car new from a local dealership. Over the years the car has evolved and grown to become one of the most recognisable in the country.
To date it has had a cool £100,000 spent on it – no expense has been spared in making this show-stopping vehicle.
Fastcar, which is one of the biggest car-related publications in the UK, have this week drawn up a list of 35 of the country’s hottest cars and are asking the public to decide which car is truly the best of the best.
Voting closes at midnight on 16th December. You can mark your favourite by visiting https://www.fastcar.co.uk/coty18/.
