Spithead Masonic Lodge 6719 is hosting an open evening on Friday 20th October at The Masonic Hall in Seaview, giving people the chance to see what Freemasonry is all about.
Held at the hall on Fairy Road in the village between 18:30 and 19:30, both gentlemen and ladies are invited.
If you are 18 and over and want to know more about Freemasonry, or have preconceived ideas, you are invited to come and, over a Pie and Drink, have a chat with the Masons.
Roll up your trouser legs, perform strange and unholy rituals, crack on with the funny hand shakes, and get some dodgy deals done with your masonic brothers.
I’m interested in this, I can do the rolled up trousers bit along with a funny handshake, they must be desperate for members by inviting people in, so I am sure that they won’t turn me away.

Sounds good. We’ll get on the gravy train with a few deals. Before you know it, we will be on the top table at the council lining up some big property deals for serious moolah.
The country is already governed by a group of people who focus on looking after their own. Should we not be encouraging people to be a bit more outward looking and altruistic. I nkow and have known lots of Freemasons and I am not aware of one of them who joined primarily to help others but ratyher because they felt they could advance their own interests.
I have known many Freemasons and every one of them has joined primarily because they beleieved it would be advantageous to them or their families and not because they wanted to help other people outside the organisation.
