After more than 2 years without a local Post Office, residents and businesses in Seaview are welcoming the news that Seaview Post Office is to re-open at Seaview Pharmacy on Thursday 3rd May at 14:15.
Seaview Post Office has been closed since March 2016 following the resignation of the Postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.
At the tail end of 2016 the Post Office consulted and agreed the re-opening of the branch at the pharmacy. Since then major changes have been undertaken to accommodate the Post Office. The pharmacy consultation room had to be demolished and rebuilt in a new part of the shop. The Post Office counter will be alongside the retail counter.
Post Office services will be offered from a till integrated into the retail counter and will be available throughout the pharmacy’s opening hours: Monday-Friday 09:00-13:00 & 14:15-17:30 and Saturday 09:00-12:45.
Sarah Lambert, Regional Network Operations Manager, said:
“We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to Seaview. Just like the vast majority of Post Office branches, Seaview will be run alongside the operator’s retail businesses, which helps the sustainability of the branch and its long-term future.”
