Isle of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings has sparked rumours that legendary artist Phil Collins could headline this year’s festival.

Earlier this morning (Friday), Giddings changed his cover photo on Facebook to an image of the former Genesis frontman, getting fan’s hopes up of an appearance at Seaclose Park in Newport this June.

Phil Collins, who boasts massive chart-topping hits such ‘Another Day in Paradise’, ‘In the Air Tonight’ and ‘Easy Lover’, will be touring Europe this June. Although he has a busy schedule ahead, he isn’t currently set to perform on either the 13th or 16th June – so it is entirely possible he may appear on the Isle of Wight.

Festival revellers have been waiting patiently for news of this year’s Festival line-up as no acts have been announced as of yet. But John Giddings has previously said that announcements should be made by the end of January.

What do you think? Would Phil Collins make a great Sunday night headliner…?
