The current premises at Albert Road will no longer be available for Post Office use, due to the expiry of the lease. Therefore, to maintain a Post Office services in the local community, the Post Office hope to relocate soon after the public consultation.
Working with the postmaster, The Post Office say they will adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office.
There will be a dedicated area of the store with 1 screened and 2 open-plan positions. The full range of Post Office products and services will be available. There will also be a low-screened, modern Post Office till at the retail counter offering same Post Office products and services throughout the store’s opening hours – Monday to Saturday 07:00-22:00 – so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient.
The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a public consultation.
The consultation will close on 14th March 2019. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at www.postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 135935.
