CASE AGAINST SANDOWN MAN ACCUSED OF MURDER ADJOURNED UNTIL SEPTEMBER

60-year-old Jonathan Christopher Stasiuk from Sandown, who is accused of murdering a former Isle of Wight Councillor, has appeared before the Crown Court today (Thursday).

Stasiuk, of Pier Street, was arrested and later charged with the murder of 73-year-old Gerry White back in May of this year following an incident in Lake. The body of Mr White was found at an area known as Lake Community Gardens on 27th May.

Gerry White, who originally came from Dublin, was a former councillor for Lake North and chairman of Lake Parish Council.

As part of the ongoing prosecution, Jonathan appeared before Southampton Crown Court today for a plea hearing, although no plea was entered.

The case has been adjourned until 12th September pending psychiatric reports. A provisional trial date was previously set for 4th November 2019.
