Middle Road has been closed between Broad Lane and Afton Road whilst Police and paramedics deal with the incident. Emergency services were alerted to the crash at around 20:20.
The National Police Air Service Helicopter from Bournemouth is circling the skies above the crash and dog handlers on the ground are searching nearby fields.
The severity of any injuries sustained is currently unclear.
UPDATE @ 21:55 – Island Echo understands that the motorcyclist involved in the incident has fled the scene, prompting a search of the area.
Amazingly, no one is thought to have been seriously injured in the crash.
The road remains closed.
UPDATE @ 22:50 – It has been confirmed to Island Echo that the incident has involved a car, a van and a motorcycle. The vehicles have sustained heavy damage.
The driver of the van has escaped any serious injury although has been advised to have a check up at St Mary’s Hospital. The female driver of the car has been conveyed to hospital by ambulance.
The NPAS helicopter has now returned to base at Bournemouth having conducted an aerial sweep, however it currently remains unclear as to whether or not the motorcyclist has been apprehended by Police.
UPDATE @ 00:01 MONDAY – The road remains closed this morning with a hard road closure in place.
The road is expected to remain closed for some time.
UPDATE @ 09:15 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that the motorcyclist was not located last night, despite the search efforts.
It is understood the motorcycle was overtaking at the time of the collision.
Middle Road has now reopened in both directions.
