Lanesend Primary School in Cowes are celebrating today (Friday) after gaining a bumper haul of awards at last night’s J Rock competition in Southampton.
8 schools from across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Dorset competed at the O2 Guildhall, with Kings Worthy Primary School in Winchester taking the overall top spot.
Although they missed out on the podium, Lanesend secured no less than 9 awards for stage use, concept, soundtrack, set design and function, costuming character, enhancement, entertainment, lighting and school community support.
Next week 12 Island schools will be competing in Portsmouth, as previously reported by Island Echo.
