Isle of Wight-based design studio, Brightbulb Design, have achieved further success across the Solent at the 18th annual Portsmouth Business Excellence Awards.
The team picked up a ’highly commended’ award in the 2019 ‘Small Business of the Year’ category. This follows Brightbulb’s success in Hampshire last year when they picked up South Coast Small Business of the Year and the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce Marketing & PR award.
The award ceremony, run by The Portsmouth News, was held on 1st February at the prestigious Portsmouth Guildhall with TV Personality Nick Wallis hosting.
Matt Jeffery, Managing Director of Brightbulb Design, said:
“Another first for Brightbulb! Being the first business to represent the Island at these awards was a great milestone and to take home a trophy is even better. We want to put the Island firmly on Hampshire’s radar and having Nick Wallis specifically mention the Isle of Wight several times in front of 400 people throughout the course of the evening because of what we have achieved has really made our night”.
Fiona Jeffery, Brightbulb’s Head of Happiness added:
“This year we are having a big push at Brightbulb to engage further with Hampshire and more of the South by joining the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and attending further Hampshire events to showcase what great Island businesses and talent we have and so this latest accolade is a real boost to our efforts”.
The rigorous judging process included an extensive awards submission plus an hour-long interview with nominees that focused on financial performance, future objectives and the company’s competitive advantage in business.
