Boots in Ryde has had to close its doors to customers after a water leak emerged in the store on Friday.
The High Street chemist has been turning away customers today (Saturday) as staff have been left with no option but to shut up shop.
Island Echo understands a leaky roof has led to the electricity being isolated. In turn, suspended ceiling panels have been removed to allow for investigatory works.
Those expecting to collect prescriptions can continue to do so via the adjoining Boots photo shop, but they are unable to take any payments.
The nearer alternative chemist is Gibbs & Gurnell on Union Street.
It is unknown at this stage if the store will be re-opening as normal on Monday.
