The identity of a man’s body that washed ashore at Chilton Chine near Brighstone at the tail end of last year has been confirmed as Michael Ferchuck from Devon.
Authorities were alerted to the discovery of a body on the waters edge between Brook and Brighstone on the afternoon of 20th October 2017, as previously reported by Island Echo.
A recovery operation was immediately launched, with the assistance of The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team, to bring the body to the top of the cliff.
It has now been confirmed that the body was that of 66-year-old Michael Ferchuck, an accountant, who went missing from his hometown in Devon on 24th September last year.
