hampshireconstabularycrestPolice are trying to locate a motorcyclist who was involved in a road traffic collision on Middle Road at the weekend.

As first reported by Island Echo, at around 20:20 on Sunday night there was a collision between Chessell and Tapnell involving a car, a van and a red and white Suzuki GSXR motorcycle with registration plate starting EX10.

The motorcyclist ran away from the scene, prompting a search involving the National Police Air Service Helicopter.

Police believe the motorcyclist may have been badly injured, because the motorbike sustained substantial damage.

Officers would like to speak to the motorcyclist, who is described as tall, of slim build and at the time of the incident was wearing dark clothing.
