Afrobeats dance classes have made their way to the Island and they aim to get to everybody moving.

A semi-professional dancer who has performed and taught classes at Wembley SSE Arena and elsewhere across the United Kingdom, shortly after moving to the Island, Henrietta began teaching Afrobeats dance classes and also delivered AfroFit classes at SnapFitness in Newport.
Speaking to Island Echo, Henrietta has said:
“In my classes, there is less focus on the technicalities of dance, only 45 minutes of having fun and a good time, building confidence, releasing endorphins and exercising without even realising and just all round good vibes.
“People of all levels will get to learn the latest dance moves and trends in the Afrobeats world while listening to the sounds of African, Caribbean and even South American music. It doesn’t matter if you’re an absolute beginner, or an advanced dancer.
Sessions will be held every Saturday between 10:30 and 11:15 at the Eric Warner Centre on St John’s Road in Ryde.
Each session is to cost those who wish to participate £5.
