The Isle of Wight Council’s licensing committee are considering increasing the cost of using a Hackney Carriage taxi.
Those jumping into an Isle of Wight taxi could soon be paying 10p more per mile – £1.90 each mile – as well as paying an additional 50p initial cost.
The price increase only applies to Hackney Carriages, not private hire vehicles that are pre-booked.
It’s the first price increase since 2013.
The committee will consider the plans next week.
