Property prices in Ryde have increased more than anywhere else in the country during 2018, research by Zoopla has found.
The Isle of Wight coastal town has seen prices soar by 10.24% this year, bringing the average property price to £242,016 – that’s around £22,500 more than this time last year.
The news will be welcomed by local homeowners but for first time buyers it’s not such great news, especially with a lack of new properties to the market in Ryde in recent months and years.
Overall, the value of properties across the UK grew by just £2,860 on average.
Smethwick near Birmingham came runner up to Ryde in the Zoopla league table with prices up 9.67% – but the average property price is much lower at £163,627.
