Isle of Wight athlete Kimberley Murray has taken a respectable 16th place in the latest round of the Skeleton World Cup in Winterberg, Germany.
Kimberley got off to a good start in Heat 1 yesterday (Friday) and put in a solid performance, crossing the line at 123.9kph – or 76mph – in a time of 58.63 to take 17th place.
The second run saw an improvement in both Kim’s speed and time, taking 12th in the heat in a time of 58.41. She reached a speed of 125.50kph.
The combined total of the 2 runs of 1:57.04 saw Murray slot in at 16th overall, just 0.02 seconds behind the USA’s Kendall Wesenberg and only 0.10 seconds behind fellow teammate Madelaine Smith.
Germany’s Jacqeline Loelling took Gold in a time of 1:55:16.
