The Isle of Wight’s Kimberley Murray has secured 17th spot in her third ever World Cup Skeleton outing.

Kim took to the ice in Altenberg, Germany this morning (Friday) for Round 3 of the BMW IBSF World Cup. She lined up alongside fellow Team GB competitors Laura Deas and Madelaine Smith.

Things got off to a good start in Run 1 but a dramatic moment on the exit of corner 4 nearly resulted in the 30-year-old flipping her sled over. She managed to maintain control and crossed the line in 1:00.75 to take 18th place.

A combined time of 2:01.05 was enough to take 17th place overall.

Russia’s Elena Nikitina took victory in the women’s Skeleton with a time of 1:57.42.
