The first edition of a new e-newsletter for Island residents has been published by the Isle of Wight Council.
The publication, called The Island, is designed to add to the public information already issued by the council via its website, social media and through the local media.
It will include news, features and signposting to key public information and partner services – to help keep Islanders informed.

Isle of Wight Council Leader, Councillor Dave Stewart, has said:
“Our new e-newsletter is all about keeping Islanders fully informed by adding to the extensive public information we already issue.
“We plan to develop and improve the newsletter following residents’ feedback on the first edition as we are keen to know what else they would like to see included – so it is very much a community led publication.
“It is particularly focused towards giving Islanders more in-depth information about the wide range of services the council provides, the current activities of the council and the new projects we are developing on their behalf.
Article continues below this advertisement “Many residents will remember that the council published a residents’ magazine from 1997 to 2013, designed to keep them informed about the council and its services. The e-newsletter is seen and designed as a more modern digital approach to fill this gap in the breadth of information we provide.
“We hope residents will enjoy the newsletter and that they will let us know their thoughts on how it can be developed further.”
