Parishioners in Whitwell have been left stunned following the theft of a handbag from the village hall.
According to Police, the handbag was stolen during a recent fundraising event.
The victim had only left the bag for a brief period but this was enough time for the offender to make off with the bag and its contents.
Police are reminding us all to keep our belongings secure at all times.
