Freshwater Independent Lifeboat has received a training grant of £10,897 from UKSAR.
Volunteers from all walks of life operate 2 lifeboats and a jet ski some 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 365 days of the year. Come rain or shine, the men and women put their lives at risk to save others in peril on the seas.
Now, thanks to this large grant, their training can be enhanced and new members can join the life-saving team.
Rod Adams, Principle Fundraiser for Freshwater Independent Lifeboat, has said:
“This grant, and the 20% we have to contribute ourselves, will enable us to continue training both new and existing crew members in 2019 to the required levels.
“But of course it very importantly allows us to release other funds raised by donations from you. the public. for essential equipment replacement and maintenance of our launch systems. This is a never ending task as most of our equipment across the board has a finite life.
“We wish to publicly thank UKSAR for making this possible”.
