CAR FIRE AT CARISBROOKE SCHOOL

carfirecarisbrooke2UPDATED: Firefighters from Newport are attending a car fire at Carisbrooke College this morning (Friday).

Pupils have been evacuated from nearby buildings as a result of the blaze, which has broken out in a Vauxhall Astra parked in the school’s car park.

The male driver of the car had only just got out of the vehicle when the fire ignited.

No one has been injured in the incident.

UPDATE @ 10:10 – The fire has been extinguished by the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

The school remains open as normal.

The vehicle has been recovered by D.H. Price Motors.
