An Isle of Wight grandfather is appealing for information after his vehicle was crashed into by a ‘hit and run’ driver last night (Friday), leaving his 4-year-old grandson shaken.
The incident is said to have occurred on Main Road, Havenstreet near the White Hart Pub at around 19:30, when a silver BMW ‘rammed’ the grandfather’s white Suzuki Swift.
Thankfully, the driver and his grandson escaped injury but the child has been left shaken. The car is said to be a potential write off.
The offending BMW – which is now missing a wing mirror and has drivers side damage – is reported to have been driven by a young male with a young female in the passenger seat.
Police have been notified of the incident. Anyone with information should contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
