A woman in her 20s sustained a serious leg injury in last night’s crash between a car and a motorcycle in Sandown.
As first reported by Island Echo, emergency services were called to the scene of the smash, involving a Honda CBF 125 motorcycle and a Vauxhall, at the junction of Broadway and Old Reservoir Lane.
It happened just before 22:00.
The black Vauxhall – which appeared to have been emerging onto Broadway – sustained significant damage in the collision, with the motorcycle ending up on its side on the opposite side of the road.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the rider of the motorcycle, a woman in her 20s, sustained a serious leg injury as a result of the collision.
She was treated on scene by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service before being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for further treatment.
Police are continuing to investigate the full circumstances that led to the collision.
