The Isle of Wight’s Andy Frost has won our 1st gold medal at the 2023 Nat West Island Games in the hammer throw.
Andy threw a distance of 55.12 metres to win the event, 1 metre and 19 centimetres ahead of Genro Paas representing Saaremaa who took silver.
Andy Frost also won gold in the 2011 Isle of Wight Island Games with a record throw of 70.61 metres.
The veteran athlete has a habit of taking gold in Island Games hammer events. He was also victorious in Shetland (2005), Rhodes (2007), Aland (2009) and Jersey (2015).
