The government is texting people across the Isle of Wight and the rest of the UK to inform them of the new rules announced by the Prime Minister yesterday (Monday).
Islanders will today be receiving a text directly to their phone, ensuring almost everyone is aware of what is expected of them.
It is thought to be the first time the Government has used mass-texting and this has been made possible thanks to the cooperation of mobile phone operators.
The SMS message reads:
Stay Home….. Stay Safe….
Listen and follow the guidelines people, it could save your life and others
They even sent one to my security alarm.
Hopefully it wasn’t planning to go anywhere anyway. 🙂
