‘YOU MUST STAY AT HOME’ TEXT SENT OUT BY GOVERNMENT

The government is texting people across the Isle of Wight and the rest of the UK to inform them of the new rules announced by the Prime Minister yesterday (Monday).

Islanders will today be receiving a text directly to their phone, ensuring almost everyone is aware of what is expected of them.

It is thought to be the first time the Government has used mass-texting and this has been made possible thanks to the cooperation of mobile phone operators.

The SMS message reads:

“GOV.UK CORONAVIRUS ALERT New rules in force now: you must stay at home. More info & exemptions at gov.uk/coronavirus Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.”

Was this text to people with existing and previous illness who are at risk or just random?Not very clear and not sure if I am high risk,thanks.
