33-year-old Matthew Emson will stand trial next year accused of attempting to rob 2 shops in Ventnor High Street at the start of October.
Mr Emson of Pier Street, Ventnor appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court via video link yesterday (Monday) where he did not enter any pleas for 2 counts of attempted robbery, threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and theft from a shop.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Mr Emson was charged with the offences following his arrest in Ventnor on 4th October.
The case has been adjourned until 21st December and the trial set for 25th March 2019.
Matthew Emson has been remanded in custody.
