3 people arrested after a toddler was hospitalised with concerning injuries have been released on bail while Police continue their investigation.
As first reported by Island Echo, Police were alerted at around 09:30 on Wednesday morning (26th August) to concerns for the welfare of a 1-year-old boy who had been admitted to St Mary’s Hospital.
The initial investigation led to the arrests of 2 men and a woman.
A 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both from Ryde, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assault, ill-treatment or neglect of a child likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man from Shanklin was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has now confirmed that all 3 have been bailed until 26th November, with strict conditions in place.
Enquiries into the matter remain ongoing.
