UPDATED: 48-year-old Joanne Wraxton of Green Lane in Shanklin is to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Monday charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding her husband.
Mrs Wraxton was arrested by Police on 1st December following an incident at her home in Shanklin, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Hampshire Constabulary said at the time of the incident that officers were deployed to reports of an assault. Upon arrival they found a man in his 50s – now known to be Mr Wraxton – with an arm injury. An air ambulance had been called upon to treat the casualty, but the weather prevented it from flying.
Joanne Wraxton has now been charged with wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, contrary to Section 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
UPDATE MONDAY – Mrs Wraxton did not a plea when she appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning.
She will now stand trial at the Isle of Wight Crown Court next year.
Joanne has been granted unconditional bail and is due to appear before the Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing on 28th January 2019.
