Police and the Island’s volunteer search and rescue team are looking for a vulnerable man who has gone missing in East Cowes this afternoon (Thursday).
Hampshire Constabulary requested the assistance of WightSAR shortly before 13:00.
It is unclear where exactly the man has gone missing from and why concerns have been raised for his welfare. His age and description are unknown.
Police are yet to issue an appeal for information.
Emergency services responded to East Cowes shortly before 11:30 this morning following reports of a house fire. A number of Police officers were in attendance, but it is unclear at this time if the 2 incidents are connected.
Members of the public are being stopped by police, shown a photograph of the missing person and asked if they have seen the person in question.

The National Police Air Service helicopter (NPAS) from Bristol has been called to assist with the search.
