2 men are being questioned on suspicion of dangerous driving following last night’s crash in Ryde, which saw a car roll over after smashing into a parked vehicle.
As first reported by Island Echo, Police were called to Alexandra Road at Gassiott Green late last night when a Vauxhall Insignia ploughed into a Renault Captur.
The Insignia was travelling towards St John’s Hill when it collided with the rear quarter of the Renault, spinning the vehicle around and into a boundary wall. The Vauxhall then rolled onto its roof before coming back down on all 4 wheels, leaving debris scattered across the carriageway.
It has now been confirmed that a 23-year-old man and a 47-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. They were arrested on Great Preston Road shortly after the crash.
Enquiries are ongoing at this time to identify who was driving the vehicle.

Got any names? name and shame these scum not hatch out their pictures and numberplate..
Yep,defently name and shame, but in a previous post you stated that you might have to move house because of two cases of vandalism in one day and the police did nothing, surely you must have some inkling who these people are, maybe practice what you preach? And if you need any help, message me and maybe I could get some friends together? X
More examples of the scum now everywhere on this Island, virtually every day examples of the low life living amongst us, time to name and shame these purveyors of destruction and threat to life, destroying peoples lives and property.
What is the point of naming and shaming if everyone is to cowardly to confront them, what are you going to do,tut at them in the post office quill,?
It was my car I do hope it’s not just a smacked wrist….I’m fuming
What is wrong with these people? Thick and damn right irresponsible. The law should change. Add up the cost of the damage these two idiots have caused, double it, then they pay it. Compensate the poor person whos car they hit and include the emergency services time.
