ROAD CORDONED OFF IN COWES FOLLOWING EARLY MORNING INCIDENT

UPDATED: Residents on a quiet side road in Cowes have awoken to find Police, Fire and Ambulance crews in attendance in large numbers as a result of a sensitive, early morning incident.

Nelson Drive has been cordoned off by the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service on instruction of the Police, who are leading this morning’s incident. An inner cordon has also been established.

1 fire appliance from Cowes is on scene and firefighters have set up a salvage sheet outside a row of terraced properties for currently unknown purposes.

UPDATE @ 08:45 – A forensic investigator has arrived at the scene in Cowes this morning, where both Police and the fire service remain.

UPDATE @ 10:08 – It has been confirmed that the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called at 06:45 this morning and requested to assist Police.

UPDATE @ 12:40 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a man’s body has been discovered.
