25-year-old Cameron Baker and 23-year-old Cayliam Sheen have both been handed 18-month prison sentences after brandishing a harpoon and a chainsaw during an incident in Oakfield back in May of this year.
A total of 3 men were sentenced at the Isle of Wight Crown Court today (Tuesday) with the third man, 27-year-old Conor Pattrick, avoiding a prison sentence.
Shortly before 23:00 on Monday 3rd May this year Police received a number of calls from concerned members of the public about a group of 5 or 6 men shouting in the street at Oak Vale. The men were seen carrying weapons, including knives, a chainsaw and a harpoon, before they all got into a car and drove away from the area.
Although no one was injured in the incident, locals were left shaken and upset.
The area was cordoned off the following morning with officers searching nearby shrubbery in the hope of locating evidence, as first reported by Island Echo.
Overnight, as detectives took up the case as the severity of the incident emerged, Police stopped a car matching the description given by witnesses on Ashey Road in Ryde. The driver, Conor Pattrick, was arrested in connection with the incident. Officers searched the car and found an improvised stun gun.
A manhunt was launched and Baker, formally of Station Avenue in Sandown and Sheen, of Elm Grove in Newport, were later arrested when they handed themselves in.
The 3 men were charged with and have now been sentenced for the following offences, having pleaded guilty to all charges at previous hearings:
- Conor Anthony Pattrick, of High Street in Freshwater, charged with affray, failing to provide, possession of an electrical incapacitation device and possession of an offensive weapon.
- Cameron Wayne Baker charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
- Cayliam Marly Sheen charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
At the Crown Court today, Cameron Baker and Cayliam Sheen were both sentenced to 18 months in prison and Conor Pattrick was handed an 18-month community order which includes 75 hours of unpaid work. He was also handed a 12-month driving ban.
Baker and Sheen have already served 3-months on remand, meaning they could be out in just 6 months’ time.
I think inbred, thick spring to mind !!!! Welcome to love Island !!
they wouldn’t look out of place as the backward locals in the film -deliverance.
What dragged this scum up! the junk food stuffing fat necked, uneducated, ugly lowlife should be in prison much longer along with his boyfriend…
Not long enough! But at least there will be time to stop Bakers head from completely withdrawing into his body and Sheens eyes to meet in the middle
My thoughts entirely well said !!!
Doesn’t surprise down oakvale lol the locals should be use to the drama lol
dumb and dumber would be a more appropriate title
Why we’re these men in Oak Vale with such vile weapons? Anything to do with drugs? What would have happened if they found who they were looking for?
Mess around in the merky world of filthy drugs, you pay the price.
Should anyone, not just young people starting life experimenting with drugs, it will destroy your future….and it’s not a life you want to live..
*were
Oh yes, you are correct. Auto fill doing its own thing again!!!!!
No wondering why the low sentences ??
It’s green and grows in the garden
Oh well I’m sure they will have a “fun” time in prison, who know they might a nice relationship with someone inside, don’t pick up the soap boys, but then again you won’t have much choice.
Well they will never be upstanding members of the community and the name Cayliam shouts chav. Complete scum !!
Rumour has it that during a robbery once, bakers neck was stolen… and sheen was hit so hard round the head it caused his eyes to almost join at the middle… and now we all know Baker will never be able to put his neck on the line again….
Up to his neck in it
Wow my dog can sit and give me he’s paw. Sit now lads and learn. You don’t frighten us.
Next time your feeling down and depressed, just remember it could be worse.
You could look like Bevis and Butthead here.
See…. Life ain’t that bad after all
LOL. B&B – that’s a blast from the past I’d forgotten about – I used to like that for silly comedy 🙂
What some repulsive looking specimens. Bet they think they’re well ‘ard. Wouldn’t want to bump into those uglies on a dark night. Why the leniant sentences? And won’t the hand wringers be saying how they couldn’t help it because of their circumstances or whatever? Just think, these types tend to breed more than anyone else. – Anyone looking forward to the future once the hand wringing do-gooders have had their way?
Pond Life Inbreeds neanderthals
I’d love to know, just to satisfy my own curiosity, whether scum like these are Island born and bred or whether they’ve been ‘imported’ from the mainland? We seem to get cases like this almost daily now in the local press whereas go back say 10 years and they would have been rather rare on the Island. So, what’s changed? It’s either the locals have gone feral in that time or we’re bringing in these undesirables from elsewhere. I wonder if it’s possible for journalists to find this out and, if they could, whether they would publish their findings?
Blame the council for allowing all these developments go ahead and getting the scum out of rich areas on the mainland and ship them here, like we are a leper colony.
Both born and bred here.. Trust me this island has enough of its very own born and raised here vermin!
They’ll do their little sentences, learn some more tricks of the trade, come out with big heads boasting. Criminals need to be humiliated and embarrassed.
I wonder if it’s the case that countries that are soft on crime, have higher crime rates? It would seem to be. This country would come down hard on more decent people I bet if they made some silly mistake and violated some rule, but let the scummy types commit more serious crimes and they get laughably leniant sentences.
