EXCLUSIVE: The future of The Priory Bay Hotel near St Helens is uncertain as the hotel’s management consult with staff over possible redundancies, Island Echo can exclusively reveal.
A consultation period with staff at the top-end country house hotel has begun, which owners say could lead to redundancies in the near future.
The 14th century, 18-bed Priory has been owned by Andrew and James Palmer since 1997 and has attracted not only the wealthy, but celebrities such as model Kate Moss.
Mr Palmer was unable to confirm nor deny to Island Echo that Christmas and New Year parties at the hotel have been cancelled.
It is said that further information is to be made available following the statutory consultation period with staff, which is due to end before Christmas.
