Public Health England has confirmed that there are now 67 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Isle of Wight.
The official number has increased by 9 from 58 on Friday. Despite the rise, the Isle of Wight still has one of the lowest numbers of confirmed cases in the country.
Earlier this week the number of confirmed cases went from 53 to 56, back down to 53 and then up to 55 before a slight increase to 58.
The number of deaths on the Island remains at 13, with the number of recoveries slightly higher at 15.

Symptoms of coronavirus
Stay at home if you have either:
[mks_icon icon="fa-arrow-right" color="#e30f13" type="fa"] a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
[mks_icon icon="fa-arrow-right" color="#e30f13" type="fa"] a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
[mks_icon icon="fa-arrow-right" color="#e30f13" type="fa"] shortness of breath.
[mks_icon icon="fa-arrow-right" color="#e30f13" type="fa"] To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay at home.
The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu. Research shows it takes, on average, around 5 days for symptoms to start showing.
Use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do.

How coronavirus is spread
Because it's a new illness, the NHS does not know exactly how coronavirus spreads from person to person.
Similar viruses are spread in cough droplets.
It's very unlikely it can be spread through things like packages or food.
Pregnancy advice
If you're pregnant and worried about coronavirus, you can get advice about coronavirus and pregnancy from the Royal College of Obstretricians and Gynaecologists.
Travel advice
There are some countries and areas where there's a higher chance of coming into contact with someone with coronavirus.
If you're planning to travel abroad and are concerned about coronavirus, see advice for travellers on GOV.UK.
Treatment for coronavirus
There is currently no specific treatment for coronavirus.
Antibiotics do not help, as they do not work against viruses.
Treatment aims to relieve the symptoms while your body fights the illness.
You'll need to stay in isolation, away from other people, until you have recovered.

Let’s be good Island folk and keep up the good work well done all x
If people been Vegan this virus and many other illnesses wouldn’t happen.. But explain that to most ignorant population which tell you That exploiting animals slavery it’s their personal choice and ‘cicrle of life’.. Keep paying for animal torture these things will happening.. Coz people are the real virus….
the vedas confirm that these things are a result of human behaviour especially their diet, but would like to add that even vegan is not enough, just a better grade of wrongness for want of better word..food should be offered first to the supreme Lord and this spiritualizes the food which becomes more antiseptic and medicinal… This is termed PRASADAM ..Slaughter of cows is deemed to be where humans become uncivilised as cows produce milk which humans can utilize for lots of products so the cow is termed a mother in this regard , but uncivilized humans in return for the mothers milk slaughter their offspring and also them when there is no more milk.slaughter free milk from happy cows is supposed to be the most wonderful food but not very available so I do not use dairy products .The human race is suffocating in ignorance and if anyone tries to educate then the majority will just want to slaughter you lol…
don’t listen to me listen to HDG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who came as A THEIF IN THE NIGHT.. the night being the ignorance of people..
and this is just a dress rehearsal, on the cards soon could be widespread human starvation..
you have seen how things can change dramatically in a couple of weeks..eating meat dulls the brains ability to recognize truth, along with other poisons that the authorities allow such as alcohol drugs smoking and believe it or not , one of the greatest culinary weapons used to keep the masses in ignorance is onions and garlic….anyone who partakes of that lot in the list will probably have breath like a dog or a pig…
Totally agree and well done you for having the guts to say it knowing the abuse you will get after
Sad news police need to buckle down people are walking in Newport like it’s a normal day bring in what other Europe countries have got only allowed out for groceries
So true, still big groups hanging around the back of co op that police don’t seem to care
Walking back from the shop yesterday and there were the usual group of lowlife sitting huddled against each other on the square brick encasement in Ryde High Street where Aspire have made some sort of hub, they accumulate there even more now, (as if they needed any encouragement) the toothless woman was there drinking out of a bottle, which she then asked one of the men if they wanted a drink out of it too. Where are the police? Why is that lowlife still allowed to litter the streets, it was difficult to maintain social distance from them as there were people walking past on the pavement behind them, people on the pavement on the other side outside Peacocks and traffic in the road. fed up with these sort of people everywhere as it is, even worse now.
And then today, I stand outside my front door, in my path, just to try and get a bit of sunlight, straight away an old lady walks down the road, she has to nearly walk into the road to avoid another one of the lowlife specimens lurching past, baseball cap on back to front, as he walked past my gateway he sneezed loudly, out into the air, I was reluctant to stand there any longer in case his germs drifted up into my path, the virus is obvioulsy present in the air for a while before it settles on anything and viruses can be caught from the air, not just from contact or from being in too close a proximity to another person who is carrying it.
Apparently there are idiots going to the corner shop multiple times a day , to buy things like backy papers and a can of booze, (well I suppose they would say that ‘is’ “essential” shopping for them!)
And everytime I have been troubled by some moron coming close up to me with no regard whatsoever for the social distance, it has alwyas been the same type, the aggressive, lowlife cretins who think nothing on earth is going to stop ‘them’ from doing exactly what they want.
And before some do gooder puts in comments asking well why don’t you help them? How exactly? Trying to educate them into how much space there is in a 2 metre distance? Asking them if they want a hankie when they sneeze out into the air? And then explaining why it is not a good idea to do so? And then ask them , nicely of course, why they are then threatening you because you dared to ask?
To Jay and Stay At Home, I sympathize with you and fully agree, we have poorly educated cretins moving around as if the rules don’t apply to them. I would urge you both to report your observations to the police via Facebook. Isle of Wight police in the search box should get you into their page. The police commissioner woman is urging the public to report any gatherings or continuous breaking of the lockdown rules. I have just read her statement on this website. As for the idiot sneezing and not covering his face, you can’t seem to get through to these idiots, they are not intelligent enough to understand or care. Good luck.
How is an increase possible if were locked down? Or are the new cases in care homes??
Why no info?
Have these poor people been wandering around in shops with other people?
Or working with other people?
Surely more info benefits more people
I don’t want to know who they are or where they live but it would be helpful to know if others are putting themselves unknowingly at risk just by going to buy essential food.
What is happening is HMG are rushing to get hospitals all the beds and ventilators that it can, time and money permitting.
Once ‘there’ they will send us back to work, to try to salvage something of the shattered economy.
HMG know then, that many of us will indeed die in virtually the same numbers as if they had not had lockdown. BUT the difference is, we will then die in hospital, NOT in our houses, with the worlds eager press watching and reporting that the Tory party and UK cannot cope.
So the same total roughly will die, but over a longer time span, thus allowing our hospitals to admit such, otherwise the deaths would be more harrowing for family AND HMG as they would never be forgiven as press interviewed family, friends etc if lost at home.
NOW as we see victims are just ‘numbers’ rather than people to the press. Big difference to HMG, but sadly not to the families of such.
YET, what else could HMG do?
Does anyone actually believe this shit. “Covid 19 symptoms” yeah blame deaths on old people who are dead anyway on this flu. It’s all bullshit.
Tell that to the younger people without health issues that have died. While I agree with you it is mostly older people with underlaying health issues that are dying and younger healthy people are unlikely to die, some of them still have therefore it is not as you put it “bullshit” I hope nobody you are close to gets it
over 90 percent have health issues, maybe its 80 percent shit..
Agree!! Liveinabox
Don’t waste your breath buddy I’ve been trying to get the sheep people not to believe everything the sheep dog( government etc) tells them. I’ve gave them facts, as well as logical ways of thinking, but no they still can’t think for them selfs. You and I ,and a few open minded people on here can see it. So sit back and watch the show, the panic in the sheep,as the sheep dog puts more pressure on them.ha ha.
Mr Justice, though I think you should have the right to air your opinions on here, why don’t you explain clearly and succinctly what you beleive is going on behind all of this?
Asking people to look something up themselves etc, all just seems a bit oblique, Much better if you explain exactly what is on your mind rather than just hinting at things and sounding as though you are sneering at people for being more stupid than you who obviously know better than anyone else.
Maybe you are right, but just making hints and asking people to go and look up something and draw their own conclusions, is one thing, but why not just explain exactly what you think is behind all of this and let people then decide if there is any truth in it.
I only ask people to look things up because, who am I? I could be telling lies. Ok, I thought looking back through all my posts on this subject, that I had explained what I think this is all about. I will make it as short as I can. In 1992 all the nations got together in Rio Brazil, and agreed on a plan for the world in the 21st century . The agreed plan for the substantial development of the planet. The agenda 21 which is now agenda 2030. Yeah so where does all this fit in I here you. Agenda 21/2030 is ,I quote, the control of ,all resources, environment, animals, wildlife, food, and of course people. Control. It clearly states that. This virus ( not as bad as they make out) is a smoke screen for the powers in charge.since this virus laws have changed and world event has happened and know one noticed, why? Virus! China is now on the U.N human rights committee! Closer to home,it now only takes 1 doctor to section a person under mental health, it was 3 for a bloody good reason! Why change it? Because it will be easier to get trouble makers (truth tellers)locked up just like in china. I will stop now because most of you will be bored by now. But please research, at least agenda 21. It’s what’s In store for is all. So the fear from media, government is all a spin. Not 1 mention of the flu this year, must be on holiday. So ma y people on here confused, that’s all part of it doubt, and to turn against each other . So much more too this sorry for the short version.
Thank you for being more succinct now. It gives people something more concrete to go on. I have often wondered about many things myself, things that go on behind the scenes that no one knows about, or none of us are supposed to know about.
I am still frightened by this virus though, nothing changes that, it is frightening. I wish there were more thoughtful, nicer people around than so many of the rough nasty types in Ryde that don’t care if they spread germs around or not, maybe they don’t believe there is anything to worry about, or don’t care if they spread it around to anyone, the powers that be may have a hidden agenda, but that doesn’t alter the fact that there is this horrible virus in the world, China should be accountable for the abuse of wild animals for one thing, but that is getting onto another matter, and people don’t much like to think about these things, it seems.
I wish this virus wasn’t as bad as they make out, there would be less to worry about on that score at least, but it’s true, no one knows what to think really, there are a lot of unanswered questions and things that don’t make sense, but the fact that so many people are dying and some of them young people too and or people with nothing wrong with them, it does seem as though certain things are being held back, why don’t they give the percentages of how many people are there with underlying health problems, compared to how many with no underlying health problems? Or maybe they count it as having no underlying health problems if someone is not being treated by the doctors? Some people may have some underlyinng health problems but not realise it. Some conditions display no symptons until a long way down the line. I wish there were more transparency is what I am trying to say, I hate the thought they are just trying to engineer things and keeping us all in the dark.
Stay at home. There really is nothing to worry about. Yes I know apparently young healthy people have died, really? And who told us that umm? Has any of their families be on tv saying ,that there loved ones were so fit and healthy before this virus killed them? Remember when this first started, we were told, most people will have mild symptoms, etc etc. They could soon see this wouldn’t have the big impact they want,so now its changed, its mutated, funny that. Anyway , I wont waste anymore of your time ( I’m getting back on me box again ,lol) live your life, dont get stressed because that lowers your immune system, funny how we are bombarded by media and government. No ! I must stop . Tc.
Why is the number increasing, 9 up from Friday? I thought the number of people with the virus would stabalize, majority are staying indoors as instructed, no holiday makers?
Still lots on the ferries commuting and plenty of Island idiots not following the rules. The police post pictures of deserted sea fronts yet in reality lots of cars doing park and walk. And now they relax the rules. In 10 days we will see another jump in numbers. The island could be free of covid-19 if the council woke up to what needs to be done. Where are the Island hot spots and how did those in hospital get infected? So much is being hidden from us.There will be a day if reckoning.
We have 67 registered cases but no more information. We could at least have a breakdown of:
– Age, sex, place of residence, working or lockdown, permanent or temporary resident.
I suppose in a pandemic the ‘powers that be’ decide that less information is better, to keep the population compliant.
More like mushrooms I would say! Watching with interest
Just heard a woman on the radio back from Vietnam. They have 300 cases! She said ,I walked through london airport and no temperature check nothing, yet in Vietnam they were checking peoples temperature in cafes the streets everywhere. So why a third world country can do better then the great British isles? Get the picture yet!? Probably not,to dim. Watching with interest
Everyone please read what mr justice has wrote so so true
caravans at thorness bay holiday park have people in them you have to park in the car park and walk but if your there full time all yr you can park by your caravan
Because this is my last post on this subject ( unless someone wants my view) what I’m going to say now,is something that if I said earlier in my posts it would have been, oh yeah course you’re going to say that. But this is true. Two years ago I had liver problems, turns out I have a fatty liver, but the blood test came back as I have a weak immune system, something to do with white blood cells. So that makes me at risk person. Have I worried about this virus? No not once, why? Back in January I had a cold turned to chest infection then pneumonia on my left lung. Antibiotics, I’m still here. I cant be scared of something that is totally and utterly blown out of proportion. So live your lives, and stop worrying about the lies and doom they portray. Worry about the agenda 21/2030.
