MAN WHO JUMPED FROM VENTNOR WINDOW DIED FROM COCAINE INTOXICATION


38-year-old Alan Jones from Ventnor survived jumping out of a bathroom window but died from cocaine intoxication, an inquest has heard.

Mr Jones of Willow Close in Upper Ventnor was found in the residential close in a distressed state on 7th July last year.

Paramedics responding to the scene determined that Alan, a diagnosed schizophrenic, was in a life-threatening condition due to the consumption of drugs. He was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital but sadly, despite the best efforts of medical teams, died before he could be airlifted to Southampton.

An inquest held in Newport today (Tuesday) heard that the 38-year-old survived the jump from a 1st floor window but succumbed to the levels of cocaine in his system.

Coroner Caroline Sumeray concluded that Alan Jones’ death was caused by cocaine intoxication.
