EXCLUSIVE: An Island man was rushed to hospital in the early hours of this morning after being stabbed in the neck at a Totland home, Island Echo can exclusively reveal.
Police and Ambulance crews were alerted to the incident at Trevanions Way shortly before 03:30 this morning (Sunday) to reports of a 36-year-old male receiving a stab wound to the neck.
Emergency services raced to the scene before paramedics transferred the wounded patient to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport for treatment. The victim, who Island Echo are not naming, has since been released after receiving multiple stitches.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary arrested a man at the scene of the incident on suspicion of the stabbing.
The detached bungalow remains cordoned off this morning while Police investigate the incident fully.
UPDATED @ 14.20 Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed a 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody this afternoon.

UPDATED MONDAY – Daniel Phillip Williams, 37, of Trevanions Way has been charged with GBH with intent by Hampshire Constabulary and appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning. Williams was remanded in custody until 15th July.
