Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Isle of Wight East, Emily Brothers, has claimed every vote will count in Isle of Wight East in the General Election on 4th July. According to polling experts, there is less than 1% difference between Labour and the Conservatives in the constituency, with Reform UK 13% behind the 2 front runners. Emily has said:
“Poll after poll consistently demonstrate nationally and locally that Labour is the only alternative to the Conservatives after 14 years of failure and chaos. “An independent group of academics, researchers and data analysists, ‘Best for Britain’ has studded MRP Survation polling and concluded that Labour on 33.30% or Conservatives on 32.18% can win. Reform are a good way behind on 19.73, with the Greens languishing at 12.72%, Independent on 1.34% and Liberal Democrats 0.73%. “The outcome of Isle of Wight East is very close, so every vote will count. “Local people shouldn’t be distracted by limited self-selected ballots that seek to meddle with voters’ actual intentions. The choice is stark, it is between Conservative and Labour, so there is no complacency on my part. I will be working hard to gain the trust of all voters living in Isle of Wight East over the next two weeks and beyond. “Labour has consistently opposed the negative tactical voting approach taken by East Wight Primary. With all the talk of local, it is strange they have chosen a candidate who doesn’t even live in the constituency. “I will endeavour to champion local people’s interests nationally, to bring much needed stability, investment and reform to our Island. “I offer a set of local policies aligned to Labour’s national programme for Government. Our missions for economic growth, an NHS fit for purpose, transition to clean energy, safe streets and breaking down barriers to opportunity is a positive plan for change. Only with Labour, we can get our Island’s future back.”

How can anyone vote for a person who tries to change what sex they were at birth. Even went against climate change to travel to Thailand for the op.
What on earth has that got to do with their ability to be a member of Parliament.
Making important decisions for a start. Needs to be a down to earth person who doesn’t live in their make believe bubble.
That is you out then. You seem to be confusing “down to earth” with bigoted and judgemental, which is what you are. You are the one who is actually living in a bubble and none of us want to go near your vile bubble because it stinks of hate and bigotry. Grow up and stop judging others by your own deranged standards.
Oh dear true facts actually upset you it would seem. Perhaps you are the one who is deranged as the truth is “born a boy grow into a man, born a girl grow into a woman”. There is nothing in between. I suppose you already have your Blue Peter badge.
You are one huge muppet with a tiny bigoted brain.
Emily. Lol
Vote Reform to ensure a little bit more normality, straight talking and putting our country’s needs first is ‘the’ policy not pie in the sky policies which are easy to promise but not to deliver
We need to end mass illegal immigration and we know neither the other two will do anything about it only make it worse
Reform will not end mass immigration. They are just full of idle promises and hot air. Farage’s increasingly frequent repulsive statements show that he lacks any moral compass.
Vote Labour if you care about people.
Vote Labour if you care about Purves…
Vote Reform if you love Putin and Trump.
Remember that Conservative Joe Robertson is part of the IoW Council that speht our money on a floating bridge (that doesn’t) ahd gave Island Roads another contract (no Gov. Money for us as we are in a PFI). He speaks as if he will put right the many wrongs on our Island, but if Conservatives could do it, why hasnt Bob Seely. Flooding has occurred all through Bob Seelys time. Nothing res9lved. Conservatives have brought our bankropt nation to its knees. Dont believe his rhetoric. His party made this mess and hes just another one who wants to jump on the gravy train.
You must improve your spell checker.
Education, education, education.
Well, that obviously failed. Remind me who said it?
I wouldn’t care to place a bet on Joey boy. I might get investigated.
This candidate has been parachuted into the island election by the labour party as they need a candidate that ticks all their relevant boxes, she faiiled to get elected in sutton at a previous election, seems london centric in her career and volunteering. Not sure she has any interest in the island other than getting a seat in parliament in any part of the country that is daft enough to vote for her..
Your logic is flawed. You had island resident Bob Seely as your MP for many years and he did absolutely nothing for the island, so why not elect someone from a party that wants to make life better for most people rather than for a wealthy minority.
Oh dear. The text is coming in bold now. It’ll be CAPS next, and lots of foot stamping.
, NO one is mentioning Bob Seely other than you trying to deflect.Who says she/he/they wants to make the island better, when you are parachuted in by the labour party to fill a vacancy.Guarantee, when she fails this time, she will turn up in some other part of the country trying her luck at the next election, but more to the point when has labour evermade anything better for the people. other than taxing to within an inch of our lives.
Just like the conservatives did with Virginia Bottomly back in the day.
Quigley looks very likely to get a comfortable win in the West, particularly with Reform taking a lot of the Tory votes.
In the East, polling suggests Brothers is marginally ahead but Robertson and Morris are only a couple of points behind, so any of them could win. Lowthion and Lilley are also-rans.
Quite surprising, actually, considering Brothers is a carpetbagger, which usually counts against candidates quite heavily on the IW.
If Labour had used someone with local connections they would have wiped the floor with the opposition.
Not sure where your figures come from, but a poll of 300 people hardle constitutes a poll of relevance, Brothers is miles behind in the east regardless of the propaganda onher behlaf.
I’m a lady,I do lady things.
I do love an election… in fact, I’m having one right now
Best For Britain (not Best of Britain as inaccurately reported by IE) does not claim to be particularly adept at polling, but neither can it be said to be partisan (looking at their Board members and core team). However, their take on MRP seems highly questionable. It’s also hopelessly at odds with, for example, BBC Poll of Polls.
Ms Brothers is whistling in the wind.
Vote for Emily – Labour is our only hope after 14 years of
Tory rule
How can you vote for someone who spends their entire day trying to be something they are not.
the human body is made up of over 36 trillion cells, all coded with male or female chromosomes – no amount of drugs, surgery or someone writing on a bit of paper “you are a woman” and calling it a gender certficate will change that.
I will be voting for someone who isn’t troubled by who they are
And on top of all that it’s a Scouser
I’m still waiting for a manifesto that is ‘wealth creating’. There isn’t a single line in the Labour manifesto that creates so much as 10p. There are lots of lines that spend tons of money, mind.
It is called investment. You can’t create wealth without investment.
What are they actually going to invest in and where is the magic money tree to pay for it, all they talk about is investing in public services, these do not make money or create wealth, they are by definition hugely overstaffed and the least productive and most prone to striking because they couldnt get a day off becuase their mum has an ingrown toenail.Labour are not wealth creators but they certainly know how to squeeze these creators until they clear off abroad like they did before when labour was in power taking all their money with them..
The magic money tree? Like the one the Tories used to spaff 39billion on Track and Trace plus all the other dodgy PPE contracts while they refused money to feed schoolkids?
Our only Hope to save our country is reform, I know they’re not perfect but they’re the best chance we have of normality, starmer & khan will destroy us, just today sadiq khan has said he will make it illegal for cars to fly the England flag in london, people really need to open their eyes & listen to people who are out there, follow mahyar tousi, Paul Thorp & new culture forum on YouTube if you really love this country & want to help save it, don’t vote Labour,,
Vote Labour, things can only get better.
If you want safer roads and safer futures for your children
and their children, Labour is the answer.
They have made roads safer in Wales and London.
Wales, where local people are up in arms over the absurd, authoritarian 20mph zones ?
Can you really believe that the island will vote anything but Tory after all these years? All the people who have come here to retire and now think that they can call themselves Islanders have had their own way for too long.
Vote reform and change this rigged political system
Vote Reform if you want a dictatorship in the UK.
That’s what Farage wants. To be President for Life, just like his chum, Vladimir Putin.
That’s why he admirers him. He turned a fledgling democracy into an outright cleptocracy / dictatorship.
Nigel only said that he admired him as a political operator. You must admit that anyone who can convince the population the size of Russia that you are right is very clever. Of course it doesn’t make him right.
Please listen to what Farage said before you condemn him.
