The scores are in — the latest batch of food hygiene ratings for Isle of Wight restaurants, cafes, takeaways and businesses have been revealed. Environmental health officers from the Isle of Wight Council have been busy in the last couple of months visiting businesses across the Island to see if they are meeting hygiene requirements. Based on guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency, inspectors look to see how clean the facilities are; what food safety management procedures are in place and how hygienic food handling is. Ratings are then dished out from 5 to 0 — with the higher the score the better the result. The latest ratings include …

Most people are now unable to eat out, unless of course on universal credit, whereby their rent and council tax is fully paid, or, heavily subsidised by working British people.
Odd how now, only the wealthy and the once classed as poor so imagined single parents can afford to dine out, whilst most full time working people have to scrimp and scrape to make ends meet.
Think the whole tax credit or universal credit system needs cutting to the bone, so the lazy few hours that some do bother to work is 40 hours not 16, then we would not need so many newcomers here. A double saving, Vote Reform or pay dearly for your folly.
Absolutely spot on
Have you been out and about recently, there are loads of people eating out, across the spectrum. So frustrating that people use unrelated news articles to have their rant and push a political agenda!
Don’t be silly. You must be poor. It isn’t that bad.
Glad to see that “karen” has now been radicalised by others on here and she is singing from the standard Tory hymn sheet. Keep it up.
Don’t tar everyone with the same brush. After a major operation for cancer I had to go on universal credits which didn’t make ends meet . At one particular bad time I had to use a food bank in order to eat. Thankfully I now get my state pension after working all my life. Also any young parent that doesn’t work the right amount of hours will be sanctioned. It is extremely hard for young families right now
I think you will find it’s the ones that claim to be disabled that get all the benefits !!
Council Tax and rent aren’t fully paid, I’m a carer for my partner and i get 76 pound a week, now wind your neck in get get your facts right
I’ve been a ‘carer’ for my partner since we married. And vice versa. There was a time it was accepted and we didn’t expect labels or to be paid for it.
A typical ‘Karen’. Brainless. Try worrying more about tax avoidance/loopholes/havens…ffs
Boardwalk Cafe Sandown is an establishment where all the
members of staff stand outside the kitchen smoking and then
go back inside and start cooking / serving without washing hands!
A no go zone for me.
It was once a good cafe.
Well maybe things will improve when they benefit from their share of the £2,5m spend on smokers currently being lauded.
That will make it worse, Premier Inn is another filthy establishment
99% of staff stand outside the front of the hotel smoking and vaping
Not a good advertisement.
Not a good score for Briddlesford Lodge Farm shop.
Could you do the burger van next to howdens please….
Bengal palace again, how many EHO inspections will they have as substandard before you close them down? or can you just keep getting 0 or 1 star ratings while other establishments are working hard to achieve their 5 stars?
They will play the card game, that’s how they get away with it.
A lot of places got a low score on their initial inspection, but, after paying the £300ish for a re inspection, got a much higher score, another money maker for the local authority.
