The site of the former petrol station and Central store on Victoria Street in Ventnor could be turned into 6 townhouses.
In a planning application submitted to the Isle of Wight Council, Mr and Mrs Sampson have applied to turn the empty site into 6x 4-bedroom townhouses in the heart of Ventnor.
The site was once home to Leslie’s Garage and the application says the operation’s fuel tanks could have contaminated land — but a report in 2010 gave the all clear for retail use.
The report describes the site as ‘derelict’ and ‘redundant’.
Now, an update is being prepared to support the submission, allowing for the proposed development.
A 3-storey building has been proposed — demolishing the current unit — along with 6 parking spaces in the forecourt.
Comments can be made on the application until 3rd April.

But where would all the rats who now slither their cars onto the current site park in the future???
It’s been fenced off for a few months, all but one car that’s fenced in, now all the ‘rats’ as you all the local residents clog up the streets as before due to the lack of free residents parking in the main car park and surrounding areas, or are you thinking of the old coach station?
How about affordable housing in town center
This site should be demolished and turned into a car park to make up for the places to be lost in the central for Ventnor council’s proposed new cash cow (sorry public convenience).
