Essential maintenance of the gangway at Wightlink’s Portsmouth Harbour FastCat terminal means changes to the boarding and disembarking process for passengers in February and March. All customers will board from the Portsmouth Harbour South End berth between Tuesday 20th February and Tuesday 5th March. This means that passengers will have to transit along a steep slope and a small number of steps. With this in mind, customers with wheelchairs, mobility scooters, prams and heavy luggage are advised to use Wightlink’s car ferry service between Fishbourne and Portsmouth instead, or travel with Hovertravel. Wightlink tickets, including Multilink and Season ticket passes, will be accepted on all Hovertravel services including the Hover Bus from Southsea to Portsmouth Hard. There will be no changes at Ryde Pier Head, although improvements are currently being made to the retail outlet at Ryde Pier Head – which will continue until early February. Wightlink apologises for any changes to travel plans and thanks customers for their patience.

The closed the terminal forcing passengers with mobility issues to use Fishborune for best part of year, did they not think to maybe integrate the works instead of forcing disabled passengers to Fishbourne route again??
