Roebeck Country Park, located at Upton, is set to open its gates on the 1st April and will offer touring, camping and tipi holidays within 14 acres of rolling countryside. The site at Gatehouse Road will also host events during the annual Isle of Wight Scooter Rally and throughout the year, including those for charity.
Transforming the rural location from the former caravan park, it is said the country park will offer fishing lakes, ponds and private woodland to explore alongside a fruit orchard. Those behind the development have told Island Echo that it will be child friendly and will boast 24hr security and maintenance.
Keeping in tune with the Island’s eco efforts, it is said the park will focus on leisure and the outdoors with fitness weekends, cycle hire, fishing hire, horse riding lessons and several nearby walks. The location is also said to be near to a private sports club which caters for swimming, gym, badminton and squash.
For those travelling to this year’s Bestival music festival at Downend, it is noted that the country park is within 5 minutes drive of the Bestival car park.
A spokesperson for Roebeck Country Park said:
“The site will see much improvement with new designs and ideas that the island hasn’t yet seen.
“We are very excited about the future of Roebeck Country Park and 2015 is just the beginning”.
The site currently is selling four fully refurbished bungalows with private parking and use of the park’s enjoyments for £110,000 with affordable ground rents.
